Born near New York and raised in Chicago, Italy, & France (in European-American & Latin-American households), Charles has been a professional actor since the age of 12 (2010). He started with Paonessa Talent Agency in Chicago, where he did a commercial for LinkedIn and earned a lead role in the Off-Broadway musical The Burnt Part Boys (Midwest Premiere). Positive reviews from the Chicago Tribune and several other publications earned Charles a full-ride scholarship to UNCSA’s School of Drama (Ranked No. 3 by The Hollywood Reporter).
Though he was earning close to a 4.0 GPA in this rigorous program, Charles’ passion for understanding the human condition landed him in New York City studying Creative Writing, Humanities, and Spirituality with New York University. In 2017, he started working with Innovative Artist’s Jaime Misher and ATC/CDTM’s Carole Dibo. Charles’ recent film credits include a role in Jennifer Reader’s Knives and Skin at Tribeca Film Festival in 2018, and several NYU student films (see reel & resumé).
His senior Capstone at NYU was an original play modernizing the Bible’s famous Gospel of John, and his mentor on this project was Award Winning NYC Playwright Caridad Svich. Most notable theatre credits include his UNCSA debut as Antonio in The Merchant of Venice (directed by Quin Gordon, 2017) and Tony in Lucy Thurber’s Where We’re Born (directed by José Arranda, 2016). Charles is now a graduate student and a life coach who continues to write/produce and act on occasion.
